Kanab Utah, which is in the heart of the color country and at the base of the Vermillion Cliffs, is incredibly beautiful. The airport is about a mile from downtown Kanab, which is the county seat of Kane County. Most of the really big western movies were filmed near Kanab. Pipe Springs National monument is about twenty five miles away in Arizona. Kanab is located at the center of a triangle which takes in Zion National Park, The North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and Bryce Canyon National Park. Kanab has some nice motels and Houston's Trails End restaurant where the hospitality is always as good as the food. A very friendly place, the last time I was there they even loaned me a car for my two day stay. They had fuel on the field. This is a good jumping off place for air tours of the Grand Canyon.
