The original farmhouse from which Heritage House evolved was built in 1877 on the property known as Pullen`s Landing. It was here during the Gold Rush, that many a schooner was loaded with hand-split railroad ties, made from the giant redwood groves, and bound for San Francisco.
Heritage House has grown throughout the years. Although there are still a few rooms in the main building, most of the guest cottages at the inn are scattered over thiry-seven acres of spectacular gardens stretching along the cliffs of the rugged Pacific coastline.
Guests are pleased to find that no two rooms are alike. The decor varies from old fashioned comfortable furnishings to sumptuous and elegantly furnished suites.
Most rooms have fireplces or wood-burning stoves to take the chill from a cool winter`s evening. Others have Jacuzzi bathtubs overlooking a white-water cove, or perhaps ocean view decks where your cares may be tossed to the wind.
All of our room rates include a full breakfast and dinner for two people. For single occupancy, deduct $20. Each additional person in a room shall be charged at the rate of $65. The rates are based on the size, location, and special features of each room. We make every effort to accommodate requests for a particular room, however, if it is unavailable, we shall do our best to book a comparable room for you. We suggest booking well in advance, but please call us for your last minute travel plans as well. Please inquire about our Christmas and New Year`s packages.
A deposit equal to the first night`s room rate will guarantee your reservation. It must be received ten days after a request is made, otherwise we will assume that you have made other plans, and will no longer hold the room. Should you find it necessary to cancel or change the date of your arrival, we require a seventy-two hour notice for a full refund less a $10 cancellation fee for each room.
The atmosphere at Heritage House is relaxed, however we encourage jackets for gentlemen at dinner. T-shirts, tank tops and sweatshirts are unaceptable. Casual attire during the day is appropriate. Our dining rooms are non-smoking, with the exception of our outdoor dining area.
We do not accept pets, and young children are discouraged due to the peaceful atmosphere we wish to provide our guests.
San Francisco and Oakland are the closets major airports.
